Memo Rojas and Scott Pruett take their second victory of the season at the Atlanta Grand Prix for Ganassi Racing. Starworks and Bob Stallings Racing complete the podium. Stevenson Motorsports wins in GT.

Grand-Am – The Ganassi victorious in Atlanta

The starting grid for the Atlanta Grand Prix was made according to the Championship standings, with qualifying having been canceled due to rain. The No. 01 BMW-Riley of Memo Rojas and Scott Pruett therefore started from pole and maintained the advantage for 94 of the 120 laps covered. After winning the 24 Hours of Daytona, the Chip Ganassi Racing drivers took their second victory of the season and consolidated their lead in the standings with a seven-point lead over Alex Gurney and Jon Fogarty. “We have been fast all weekend, since the first tests on Thursday. I heard it was hot behind me towards the end of the race and I'm glad I wasn't in there.", commented Scott Pruett who is celebrating his 40th victory in the premier category of the discipline.

Ryan Dalziel fell 17 seconds out of first place in the No. 8 Starworks Motorsport Ford-Riley he shares with Alex Popow while the No. 99 Corvette DP of Gurney-Fogarty completed the podium. Gustavo Yacaman and Antonio Pizzonia placed fourth in the No. 6 Michael Shank Racing Ford-Riley while Richard Westbrook and Ricky Taylor rounded out the top five in the No. 90 Spirit of Daytona Corvette DP. Max Angelli and Jordan Taylor took sixth place in the No. 10 Velocity Corvette DP. Stéphane Sarrazin, Pedro Lamy and Enzo Potolicchio took ninth place in the 8Star Motorsports Chevrolet.

John Edwards et Robin Liddell ont décroché la victoire en GT sur la Chevrolet Camaro GT-R du Stevenson Motorsports. L?Écossais a devancé sur la ligne d’arrivée la Porsche GT3 du Park Place Motorsports pilotée par Patrick Long et Patrick Lindsey. Le Californien a offert à son équipe son meilleur résultat en deux saisons après avoir dépassé la Ferrari 458 Team Alessandro Balzan's Corsa in the final moments of the race. Joel Miller and Andrew Carbonell won in GX with the No. 00 Visit Florida Racing Mazda.
