IMSA – Action Express Racing at the controls of the Roar

The second day of testing at the Roar before the 24 in Daytona (Florida) once again allowed the Cadillac DPi to shine as they still monopolized the top four at the end of the fifth session.

Felipe Nasr was responsible for setting the new benchmark at the wheel of the No. 31 Action Express Racing car by completing a lap in 1'36''973 during the fourth practice session. Ryan Hunter-Reay was the closest with 83 thousandths behind the #10 Konica Minolta. Filipe Albuquerque maintains third place in the #5 Mustang Sampling Racing car, followed by the #90 Spirit of Daytona Racing driven by Eddie Cheever III.

Core Autosport is the only team to place an Oreca 07 LMP2 in the top five with Clin Braun's time set in the second session. Ferdinand Habsburg followed by almost a tenth in the No. 78 of Jackie Chan DC Racing. The first Acura DPi of Team Penske is the No. 6 of Juan Pablo Montoya, finishing seventh. The United Autosports Ligier JS P217 on which Fernando Alonso occupies 13th place.

Ford keeps control in GTLM with Sébastien's #66 Bourdais, auteur d’un tour en 1’43’’798 lors de la dernière séance disputée de nuit, qui devance la voiture soeur n°67 de Ryan Briscoe. Laurens Vanthoor a complété le tiercé de tête de la catégorie sur la Porsche 911 RSR n°912 qui précède la Ferrari 488 of the Risi Competizione of Alessandro Pier Guidi. Rolf Ineichen remains the fastest in the GTD with his time of 1'47''104 set at the wheel of the No. 3 Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini Huracan GT11 in the first session.
