The entry and operation of the NSXs were entrusted to the Michael Shank Racing structure, accustomed to the IMSA pelotons in the Prototype category in recent years, with in particular the Ligier JS P2 powered by a Honda block (Acura being the brand used by the Japanese firm, particularly in North America).

As for the drivers, Acura Motorsports has confirmed the presence of Andy Lally (winner of the 24 2016 Hours of Daytona in GTD and three-time Grand-Am champion), Katherine legge (aligned within the DeltaWing program), Jeff Segal (winner of 24 Hours of Le Mans 2016 in GTE-Am with Team Corsa) and Ozz Negri (long-time resident of Shank Racing and winner of the 24 Hours of Daytona 2012) to lead the program in the GTD category in the IMSA Sportscar Championship in 2017.

A quartet of experience for Michael Shank's team, which will not be the only one to enter the NSX on the other side of the Atlantic. The Pirelli World Challenge will also be on the Acura Motorsports program with RealTime Racing, and two NSXs entrusted to Ryan Eversley and Peter Kox.
