IMSA – Corvette keeps the pace at the Michelin GT Challenge

For the third time in a row, Corvette took victory in GTLM in the Michelin GT Challenge where only the GT categories were represented. Jan Magnussen and Antonio Garcia scored their first success of the season in the #7 C3R which started from pole and gave the American brand its fifth category victory in IMSA.

If Corvette increases its lead in the Manufacturers' Championship, the same cannot be said for Oliver Gavin and Tommy Milner, the category leaders in the Drivers' standings. The crew of the No. 4 retired following an accident by the Briton at the end of the race. The race had already started badly for the second C7R which experienced a first off-track exit and a penalty imposed for an infraction by the mechanics in the pits. Gavin-Milner now only have a seven-point lead over Westbrook-Briscoe.

Toni Vilander's teammate was only able to finish seventh behind the #67 Ford GT of Briscoe-Westbrook, the #6 BMW M25 of Werner-Auberlen and the #911 911 RSR of Pilet- Tandy.

The No. 48 Paul Miller Racing Lamborghini Huracan of Bryan Sellers and Madison Snow dominated the GTD category throughout the weekend and logically won.
