IMSA – D3+ Transformers Racing absent at Daytona

The D217+ Transformers Racing Ligier JS P3 will ultimately not be present at the 24 Hours of Daytona (January 27 and 28) as well as at the Roar before the 24 contested this weekend. The Dawson Racing team is now planning to make its debut in the highest category of theIMSA during the following round at the 12 Hours of Sebring on the weekend of March 18.

“We had some delays as sometimes happens with a new team, a new car and a new infrastructure, explained Ian Dawson, Team Principal of D3+ Transformers Racing. Although we would have loved to start our season at the 24 Hours of Daytona, it is also one of the most grueling races in the world. We preferred to delay our debut rather than rushing with a car not yet tested at the Roar before the 24 in the first week of January and racing two weeks later. »

D3+ Transformers Racing has only confirmed one driver so far with Robbie Kerr.

“We want to have time to do a real testing program with our new Onroak Ligier Gibson LMP2 in January and February before competing in the 12 Hours of Sebring with a solid structure. It will also give us time to find more partners and approach the season in the best conditions.”, clarified Ian Dawson.
