IMSA – DragonSpeed at the 24 Hours of Daytona with Duval

If, in 2016, she had used the 12 Hours of Sebring to prepare for her season ELMS, the DragonSpeed team will begin, this time, with the 24 Hours of Daytona (January 28-29). Elton Julian's team will field an Oreca 07 at the wheel of which we will find the usual trio composed of Henrik Hedman, Ben Hanley and Nicolas lapierre.

« DragonSpeed did a lot during its first season in ELMS to become one of the major players in the series (one victory, four podiums and three pole positions in six races. Editor’s note), rejoices Hugues de Chaunac, the boss of Oreca. We are delighted to see the team enter the 24 Hours of Daytona. It will be special, since this race will mark the debut of the Oreca 07. »

The other good news is that to support them, a choice reinforcement has been requisitioned in the person of Loïc duval. The recent winner of the 6 Hours of Bahrain will reunite on this occasion with Nicolas Lapierre, with whom he shone so much on the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP from the Oreca team, including a victory at the 12 2011 Hours of Sebring. It's great to be associated again, the person concerned is satisfied. I rode against Ben (Hanley. Editor’s note) karting and I know how good he is so I'm delighted to have him alongside me at Daytona. I am also looking forward to working with Henrik (Hedman. Editor’s note), both for his commitment and his passion for winning. »

« Our ambition is to win, assures Elton Julian, who hopes to see his team debut next June at the 24 Hours of Le Mans (June 18-19). Nico (Stone. Editor's note) is wonderful every time he takes the track, Ben (Hanley. Editor's note) has more than justified the trust we have placed in him, and Henrik (Hedman. Editor's note) has made enormous progress since his first laps aboard an LM P2 a year ago. »
