IMSA – Mazdas on pole at Laguna Seca

After dominating the tests, Mazda won its first pole by monopolizing the first row of the grid for the Monterey Grand Prix in Laguna Seca (California). Tristan Nunez set the best time at the wheel of the No. 55, completing a lap in 1'18''143 and ahead of Tom Long's sister car by two tenths.

Dane Cameron was closest in the No. 31 Action Express Racing Corvette DP, finishing nearly a second back. Ricky Taylor lost by 47 thousandths in the Wayne Taylor Racing Corvette DP.

In GTLM, it was Daniel Serra who set the benchmark with a time of 1'22''867 at the wheel of the Ferrari 488 GTE of the Team Corsa which was ahead of the two Ford GTs by a few thousandths, while Tommy Milner's Corvette C7R completed the second row half a second from pole.

Robert Alon a décroché la pole des LMPC avec FLM09 du PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports créditée d’un temps de 1’21’’146. Alex Riberas s’est offert le meilleur tour en GTD avec un chrono de 1’27’’775 au volant de la Porsche 911 GT3-R n°23 du Team Seattle Alex Job.
