IMSA – Mathias Beche: “Shattering the hierarchy”

Second in the 6 Hours of Austin – sixth round of the WEC – around ten days ago, Mathias Beche is on a good path. On this occasion, based on the average of the 20 best laps in the race, the Swiss climbed to the top of the LM P2 hierarchy, proof of the preponderant role he played in the final result of the race. Oreca 07 n°13 from the Vaillante Rebellion team.

If he will try to do as well at the 6 Hours of Fuji (October 15), Mathias Beche will first stop next week in Atlanta (USA / Georgia) to compete in the 20e edition of Petit Le Mans, final round of theIMSA SportsCar Championship. Unsurprisingly, he will defend the colors of Rebellion Racing, a team of which he has been one of the spearheads since 2013, and will share the wheel with German Nick Heidfeld and American Gustavo Menezes.

« I am extremely happy to be able to compete in this legendary race, underlines the person concerned. The team has already won the 2012 and 2013 editions and therefore the objective will necessarily be very high for us. We want to shine and finish the American campaign in style. It will be nice to team up with Gustavo and reunite with Nick who I teamed up with for two years. Competition is tough against manufacturers like Cadillac or Nissan but we hope to be able to shake up the hierarchy. »

As team manager Bart Hayden likes to remind us, “ during our last two participations at Le Petit Le Mans in Atlanta we won the race ". It's up to Mathias and his acolytes to maintain their employer's success percentage at 100 in the Georgian classic.
