Mazda returned to pole position at Road America thanks to the performance of Jonathan Bomarito in the #55. Ford is on pole in GTLM.

IMSA – Mazda regains pole at Road America

Jonathan Bomarito took pole in IMSA at Road America (Wisconsin) by setting a time of 1'54''507 at the wheel of the No. 55 Mazda Prototype. The American was more than a second ahead of his rivals, with Christian Fittipaldi placing the #5 Action Express Racing DP on the front row, while Ricky Taylor moved up to third in the #10 Wayne Taylor Racing.

The top five on the grid is completed by the #70 Mazda of Tom Long and the #31 Action Express Racing of Eric Curran.

En GTLM, c’est Dirk Müller qui s’est montré le plus rapide en bouclant un tour en 2’02’’451 sur la Ford GT n°66. Patrick Pilet a échoué à moins d’une demi-seconde sur la Porsche 911 RSR n°911. Ryan Briscoe a placé la seconde Ford en deuxième ligne devant la Ferrari 488 GTE n°62 of the Risi Competizione of Giancarlo Fisichella.

James French took the LMPC pole with a time of 1'59''133 in the No. 38 of Performance Tech Motorsports to beat the No. 75 of Starworks Motorsports driven by Jose Gutiérrez by just 7 thousandths. Alex Ribeiras claimed his third pole of the season in GTD with a time of 2'07''520 signed in the No. 911 Porsche 3 GT23 R of Team Seattle / Alex Job Racing.
