IMSA – Michael Shank Racing will field the Acura NSX GT3 in 2017

Whether in IMSA Sportscar Championship or the latest 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Michael Shank Racing team is fielding a Ligier JS P2 powered by the Honda unit this year. The Ohio team has already confirmed part of its program for the next season on the other side of the Atlantic, which will involve reinforced collaboration with the Japanese brand.

The training will in fact engage two Acura (American label of Honda) NSX GT3 in the GTD category of the IMSA series.

“This is a big step in the development of our team, and we look forward to working with HPD to deliver further success for Acura in endurance racing in North America.” » commented Michael Shank, owner of the stable.

In the final stages of preparation for FIA homologation, the NSX GT3 will be powered by a 6-liter twin-turbo V3,5 and has followed its development on several circuits in Europe and Japan. The car will also be present in the Pirelli World Challenge championship, under the RealTime Racing banner.
