IMSA – Nasr and Albuquerque at Action Express

After winning the last three editions of theIMSA SportsCar Championship, Action Express Racing is preparing to cede its crown to Wayne Taylor Racing, who only needs to start at Le Petit to secure the title. Le Mans, next week.

In order to regain its property next year, the American team will modify its crews. In the No. 5 Cadillac DPi-VR, Filipe Albuquerque and Christian Fittipaldi will exchange positions. Until then only requisitioned for the four NAEC races (24 Hours of Daytona, 12 Hours of Sebring, 6 Hours of the Glen and Petit Le Mans), the Portuguese will start for the entire season alongside Joao Barbosa. And this to the detriment of the Brazilian, who will therefore be content with the NAEC and… the role of sports director.

On the sister car, which sports the No. 31, boss Bob Johnson is forced to make up for the departure of Dane Cameron at Penske. To replace him, his sights have fallen on Felipe Nasr, who will therefore team up with the American Eric Curran. The 25-year-old Brazilian, who has a total of 39 starts in F1 under the colors of Sauber would thus make its return to competition after being ousted by the Swiss team at the end of the 2016 financial year. As a reminder, Nasr already knows the team, having worn its colors during the 2013 edition of the 24 Hours of Daytona. On the Florida double clock, at the 12 Hours of Sebring and at Petit Le Mans, the two men will be associated with the Briton Mike conway, who is already playing freelance on this car this year.
