IMSA – Olivier Pla joins Shank Racing in NAEC

The Toulouse driver, recently confirmed at Ford in the WEC, will be aligned with the Ligier JS P2 of Michael Shank Racing for the Endurance events of the 2016 WeatherTech Sportscar Championship.

IMSA – Olivier Pla joins Shank Racing in NAEC

The North American Endurance Cup brings together the four Endurance races within the WeatherTech Sportscar Championship: the 24 Hours of Daytona, the 12 Hours of Sebring, the 6 Hours of Watkins Glen and Petit Le Mans.

A series of events that the Frenchman will compete in 2016 Olivier Pl within the Michael Shank Racing with Curb/Agajanian team. The Toulouse driver will find a well-known car since it is at the wheel of a Ligier JS P2, powered by a Honda unit, that he will be lined up from Daytona. He will share his seat in Florida on January 30 and 31 with John Pew, Ozz Negri and AJ Allmendinger and will also be present this weekend for the Roar Before the Rolex 24 tests.

“It’s a very strong crew and I know this car very well,
admits Pla, who contributed to the development tests of the Onroak Automotive prototype. I've spent a lot of time in the Ligier and I know what this car is capable of. I think we can expect a good result. Everyone at Michael Shank Racing has been very welcoming. I can't wait to get started and see what we can do. »

Olivier Pla has also been confirmed at Ford Chip Ganassi Racing, for the entire 2016 World Endurance Championship at the wheel of the new Ford GT, entered in GTE Pro.
