IMSA – Paul di Resta with United at Daytona

As we announced to you exclusively in issue 2135 of AUTOhebdo, Paul di Resta is the new driver confirmed by United Autosports for the 56th edition of the 24 Hours of Daytona (Florida) contested on January 27 and 28 to open the season.IMSA. The stable reserve Williams will play alongside Will Owen, currently fighting for the title ELMS with the structure of Zak Brown and Richard Dean before this weekend's final in Portimao (Portugal)

United Autosports will enter two Ligier JS P217s at the 24 Hours of Daytona. The American team previously confirmed Lando Norris and Phil Hanson. The rest of the crew is yet to be confirmed but Fernando Alonso would be likely to participate in the test.

“I have never competed in a 24-hour race before and I have never driven a prototype. So everything will be new for me but I’m looking forward to the challenge.”, comments Paul di Resta.

“I wanted to discover what a 24-hour race could be like and I seized the opportunity when Zak offered me the wheel. The 24 Hours of Daytona becomes more and more famous year after year and it's fantastic to take part in it. It is planned that I will test with the team so that I integrate and drive the car before the January tests (5th to 7th)”, adds the pilot Mercedes en DTM.
