IMSA – Performance Tech climbs to the highest level

THEIMSA will welcome a new Prototype team next year. After competing in the Prototype Challenge for several seasons, Performance Tech will enter an Oreca 07 in the premier category of the American Championship following the disappearance of the PC class.

“Everyone was waiting for a Dallara or a Ligier, but we wanted to continue the relationship built over several years, commented Brent O'Neill, the team's Team Principal. It's a big step for all of us, but the step forward is easier by staying with Oreca. »

Performance Tech has not yet confirmed its crew for the season but has already assured to compete in all rounds, starting with the 24 Hours of Daytona (Florida) at the end of January.

“The team has proven in PC that it is performing well and we have established very good relationships over the last few seasons, confirms David Floury, the technical director of the French manufacturer. I think they went with the right car for two reasons. The Oreca 07 is renowned for its quality and has shown itself to be fast and reliable, but it is also a good starting point for a team entering the category. JDC in the USA and Graff in Europe have shown this very well. »
