IMSA – Porsche, an ideal setting for Kévin Estre

Recruited by Porsche for season 2016, Kevin Estre will notably take part in the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring (May 28-29) as well as the 24 Hours of Le Mans (June 18-19). Before these two big meetings, the former pilot McLaren will be engaged as part of its program on North America Endurance Cup in WeatherTech Sportscar Championship at the 24 Hours of Daytona in Florida (January 30-31).

The Frenchman is lined up this weekend in the No. 911 911 RSR of Porsche North America with his compatriot Patrick Pilet and the Briton Nick Tandy at the Roar Before the Rolex 24, a preliminary test session for the first round of the championship across the Atlantic . A first experience so far successful.

“These first laps on this legendary circuit were quite an experience. My expectations were exceeded,
comments Estre. Driving for Porsche is something very special. The team is very structured, everyone in the team knows what they have to do. And for a pilot, it immediately gives you a good feeling.

We experienced virtually no problems with the 911 RSR. Of course there are a few things to review, but we have all day to do it. We will make good use of this available time. »
The final day of the Roar Before the Rolex 24 takes place today in Daytona. Olivier Pla and Michael Shank Racing dominated the first two days of racing.
