The second day of the Roar Before the Rolex 24 in Daytona, Florida once again demonstrated the speed of the duo Neel Jani – Oreca 07. The pilot Porsche en WEC signed the best cumulative performance, completing a lap in 1'38″944 during the night session.
No one this Saturday, disturbed by the rain, was able to rise to the level of the Oreca 07 n°13 of Rebellion Racing. Mazda Motorsports, after a cautious start on Friday, increased the pace as the #24 Mazda RT55-P of Tristan Nunez – Jonathan Bomarito – Spencer Pigot – Ben Devlin climbed to second place in 1'39″157.
DragonSpeed confirms the potential of the Oreca 07, since the copy of Nicolas lapierre – Ben Hanley – Henrik Hedman – Loïc duval signs the third cumulative time in 1'39″315. During the third session of the Roar, contested in the rain, the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac DPi-VR of Ricky Taylor – Jordan Taylor – Max Angelelli – Jeff Gordon was the fastest in 1'51″854 .
Performance Tech Motorsports achieved the best time of the day in 1'44″191 with the Oreca FLM09 of O'Ward – Masson – Coppe – French.
The GTLM category was once again dominated by Ford Chip Ganassi Racing. The Ford GT n°67 by Scott Dixon – Ryan Briscoe – Richard Westbrook led the debates with a best time established by the first mentioned in 1'44″558.
The No. 69 Ford GT of Kanaan – Priaulx – Tincknell follows in second position at 227 thousandths ahead of the No. 68 Ford of Olivier Pla – Billy Johnson – Stefan Mücke third at 250 thousandths. The two Corvette C7.Rs of Gavin – Milner – Fässler and Magnussen – Garcia – Rockenfeller are the Fords’ closest pursuers.
In GTD, Land Motorsport remains at the forefront with the Audi R8 LMS entrusted to Christopher Mies – Jules Gounon – Connor de Phillippi – Jeffrey Schmidt.
