IMSA – René Rast at Visit Florida in Daytona

The entry list for the 54th edition of the 24 Hours of Daytona (January 28-29) definitely looks great. Today, the Visit Florida Racing team lifted the veil on the identity of the freelancer it would call upon at the end of the month, for the opening round of theIMSA SportsCar Championship 2017.

The two holders, namely the Belgian Marc Goossens and the Dutchman Renger van der Zande, will be supported during the double round of the Florida clock by René Rast. If the Riley Mk. 30 is in the mix, then there is hope.

« It's definitely one of my favorite races and I'm really looking forward to it, said the 30-year-old German. I won the event twice (in 2012 then 2016 in GTD. Editor’s note) but never in general. And it's part of my dreams. I'm really proud to be a part of this program. »

An official Audi driver for several years, René Rast has participated in this great classic five times. This weekend, at the Roar before the Rolex 24, he will take the wheel of the Riley Mk. 30 for the first time.
