IMSA – Three Ford GTs at Sebring

On March 18 at Sebring, the German Stefan Mücke, the French Olivier Pla and the American Billy Johnson will come to lend a hand to the two Ford GTs entered full-time in IMSA, and which will be entrusted in Florida to the trios Ryan Briscoe-Richard Westbrook-Scott Dixon and Joey Hand-Dirk Müller-Sébastien Bourdais.

« We would have liked to enter four cars like in the 24 Hours of Daytona but the cars of the WEC are already prepared for the Monza prologue (April 1-2), and Silverstone (16th April), explains Dave Pericak, director of Ford Performance. Even though we couldn't send our four cars, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to our two teams (Ford Chip Ganssi Team USA and Ford Chip Ganssi Team UK behind which is Multimatic Engineering. Editor’s note) to work together. »

An opportunity also praised by Chip Ganassi, the owner of the team: “ They will be able to share their valuable know-how. It's quite rare to have these opportunities, so you have to take advantage of them. »

As a reminder, Ford Chip Ganassi Racing won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in GTE Pro, and more recently the 24 Hours of Daytona in GTLM.
