IMSA – United Autosports completes nearly 2000km of testing

United Autosports is preparing for a strong 2018 season, including the 24 Hours of Daytona (Florida) held on January 27 and 28, by carrying out a two-day test session on November 7 and 8 at Paul-Ricard (Var) with notably Paul di Resta and Lando Norris who were able to discover the driving of an LMP2 before the Roar before the 24h, the official three-day test session scheduled between January 5 and 7.

With two examples of the Ligier JS P217, United Autosports was able to complete nearly 2000km of testing. The two LMP2s were able to complete short and long stints by doubling the stints with the tires.

“I was only able to stay one day at Paul-Ricard before leaving for Brazil, explained Paul di Resta. It was an interesting experience to see what the Ligier LMP2 was doing because the race is not very far away. It's clearly a fun car to drive. It was the first time I shared a car on a test day and Lando and I worked well together, despite the size difference. »

“The Ligier is very pleasant to drive and Daytona promises, adds the reigning champion of the F3 European Championship Driving was limited and you have to gain confidence behind the wheel. I just need to do more terminals, which I will do at the Roar. Besides, I already know Fernando (Alonso) with my program McLaren and I was delighted to meet Phil (Hanson). »

United Autosports will look great at the 24 Hours of Daytona. Fernando Alonso will drive alongside Lando Norris and Phil Hanson, while Paul di Resta will work with Will Owen on the second LMP2.
