IMSA – Visit Florida offers victory to Ligier

Renger van der Zande and Marc Goossens gave Ligier its first victory in IMSA this season after winning the America's Tire 250 in Monterey (California) at the wheel of the Visit Florida Racing Ligier JS P217.

The 31-year-old Dutchman took advantage of a complicated end to the race for the No. 31 Action Express Racing Cadillac DPi driven by Dane Cameron, who notably suffered from contact with a GT and leaving the track, to return in the leader's wheels before overtaking him in the final laps. The #90 Ligier wins by two seconds at the end of the 2h41 race.

The Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac DPi driven by the Taylor brothers which started from pole completed the podium. Jordan Taylor made a strong comeback to snatch third place from the No.5 Action Express Racing of Joao Barbosa after the Championship leaders' car lost time during a pit stop. Jordan and Ricky Taylor maintain a 29-point lead over the Cameron-Currran tandem before the final played at Petit Le Mans (Georgia) on October 7.

BMW took victory in GTLM with the #6 M24 of John Edwards and Martin Tomczyk which won with just a tenth ahead of the #488 Risi Competizione Ferrari 62 GTE driven by Giancarlo Fisichella and Toni Vilander. Patrick Pilet and Dirk Werner completed the category podium ahead of Jan's Corvette C7R Magnussen and Antonio Garcia who is ahead of the two Ford GTs. Christina Nielsen and Alessandro Balzan took GTD victory in the #63 Ferrari of Team Corsa.
