IMSA – Wurz and Hartley with Ganassi at Daytona

We thought he had retired since the last round of the World Championship.Endurance in Bahrain last November, but Alexander Wurz will return to the wheel in 2016 for the 24 Hours of Daytona (January 30-31) en Floride, pour la première manche du WeatherTech Sportscar Championship. L’ancien pilote Toyota specified on his Twitter account that it was only a commitment to this ordeal that he will discover.

The Austrian will meet one of his opponents in WEC this year, in the person of the New Zealander Brendon Hartley, champion du monde avec Porsche en 2015, qui pilotera également le prototype badgé du n°01. Les deux pilotes seront épaulés par le Canadien Lance stroll, seen in the European Championship F3 this season, and the British Andy Priaul, triple WTCC champion between 2005 and 2007 with BMW, and who had recently announced his departure from the fold of the propeller brand.

On the second prototype entered by the American team, we will find the defending quartet with the drivers IndyCar Tony Kanaan and Scott Dixon, 2015 champion of the discipline, who will evolve alongside the regulars of the NASCAR Jamie McMurray and Kyle Larson.

Chip Ganassi Racing will also put on track two Ford GTs in the GTLM category.
