Part of the third position, the Porsche n ° 9 of Pfaff Motorsports won on the Virginia International Raceway track with its duo composed of Matt Campbell and Mathieu Jaminet. The two men beat the Chevrolet Corvette C8.R of Antonio Garcia and Jordan Taylor by less than a second at the checkered mark. Mathieu Jaminet was in seventh place at the last restart of the race, due to numerous offbeat strategies.

The GTDs thus gave the GTD Pro a hard time by lengthening their stints, but Philipe Ellis and Russell Ward had to settle for third place overall on the Mercedes AMG GT3 n°57 from Winward Racing. They won their category ahead ofAston Martin Vantage GT3 of Roman de Angelis and Maxime Martin. The Belgian nevertheless held the lead in the general classification of the event until the last four on a daring fuel-saving strategy, but finally cracked.

This fifth victory of the season is almost synonymous with a title for Campbell and Jaminet. They only have to start the last round of the season, at Road Atlanta, to be officially crowned in GTD Pro.
