Jordan Taylor and Max Angelelli scored their third victory at the wheel of the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Corvette DP by winning by a few seconds over the Michael Shank Racing Ford-Riley driven by Justin Wilson and Gustavo Yacaman, the gap being reduced at the end of the event following a restart in the last laps of the race. This success at the end of the last Grand-Am event gives them the title before the discipline unites next year with the ALMS to form the United SportsCar Championship.
Memo Rojas and Scott Pruett, drivers of the Chip Ganassi Racing BMW-Riley, completed the podium after starting from the back of the grid following an engine change. The team still won the Teams title. “It’s a bit sad. Grand-Am has been our discipline throughout this decade and we don't like to see it end, even if it's for a new start.", commented Scott Pruett. Dane Cameron and Wayne Nonnamaker took fourth place in the Team Sahlen BMW-Riley, while the 8Star Motorsports Corvette DP completed the top five thanks to a strong comeback from Sébastien Bourdais (associated with Emilio de Guida).
