IMSA changes its calendar

Finding the best possible compromise in terms of timing is a real headache in normal times. This shows that finding the right solutions in this second part of 2020, against the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic, is complicated.

THEIMSA has decided to move three of the rounds of its previous calendar, in order to better fit with the other international meetings. So, the 6 Hours of Watkins Glen (New York), scheduled for the weekend of October 4, will finally be contested from September 3 to 6.

A change which avoids a conflict of dates with the 8 Hours of Indianapolis, American round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge, a meeting where a race will also be held IndyCar.

The Lime Rock Park (Connecticut) event, reserved for GTLMs and GTDs, will be postponed a week later from September 11 to 12, when the Laguna Seca meeting (California) will be organized on October 30 and November 1. , and will constitute the penultimate round of the season.

The benchmark endurance championship across the Atlantic is due to resume on July 3 and 4 in Daytona, for a 2h40 race where 26 cars are expected on the starting grid.
