The 908 in charge

At the end of the first day of free testing for the 12 Hours of Sebring, it was the Frenchman Stéphane Sarrazin in the No. 908 8 HDi shared with Franck Montagny and Sébastien Bourdais, single Peugeot on the track, who set the best time in 1:44.719. It's still more than a second slower than the impressive time achieved yesterday by Tom Kristensen?s Audi R15 in 1:43.595, but, in the Frenchwoman's defense, it must be said that it had rained during the previous night and that, as a result, the track had changed significantly, losing a little rubber.

The two Ingolstad prototypes are also ranked in second and third positions, with a clear difference between them however, since Kristensen finishes with a lead of 9 tenths over his teammate Mike Rokenfeller, while only 214 thousandths separate him from the Peugeot of head.

Behind, fourth and fifth places go to the Acura, plagued by insufficient top speed. Indeed, neither of the two ARX-02As managed to go below 1:46. The De Ferran Motorsports team once again beat Highcroft Racing while simon pagenaud was however not on the track, unlike David Brabham.

In LMP2, Fernandez Racing finally took its ARX-01B out of the box, but in the end it finished 3 tenths behind the very fast Lola-Mazda n°16 from Dyson Racing.
The long-awaited duel between Mazda and Acura should therefore take place, even if unlike last year, it will take place far from the LMP1s.

In the GT1 category, the best time is the work of Jan Magnussen. The New Zealander improved at the end of the session the time achieved in the morning by his teammate, Antonio Garcia. Just behind, at exactly 162 thousandths, follows the C6.R of the Beretta/Gavin/Fassler crew.

In GT2, the Farnbacher-Loles Racing 911 RSR is ahead of its closest rival, the No. 45 Flying Lizard, by almost eight tenths.
