Eighth round of the seasonIMSA, Bowmanville saw the victory of Sébastien's No. 01 Cadillac Bourdais and Renger van der Zande. Dominant since the start of the weekend, the No. 60 Acura in the pink livery of Meyer Shank Racing was once again surprised at the very end of the race. A week after Filipe Albuquerque's authoritarian overtaking of Tom Blomqvist for victory at the 6 Hours of Watkins Glen, an identical scenario repeated itself on the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park track. 10 minutes from the end of this sprint race lasting 2 hours 40 minutes, Renger van der Zande took advantage of the traffic to steal the victory from Oliver Jarvis and offer it to Cadillac.

The incredible scenario of the first Free Practice session was already a precursor to an extremely close battle between Meyer Shank Racing and the No. 01 from the Detroit manufacturer. Tom Blomqvist, for Meyer Shank Racing, and Sébastien Bourdais had indeed achieved the feat of concluding the first driving session of the weekend in the same time. Pipo Derani and Olivier Pla completed the Sunday podium with the No. 31 Whelen Engineering Cadillac.

Ligier signed a new hat-trick in LM P3 with the victory of the No. 54 of CORE Autosport (Jon Bennett, Colin Braun) ahead of the No. 36 of Andretti Autosport (Jarett Andretti, Gabby Chaves) and the No. 30 of Jr III Racing (Ari Balogh, Garett Grist).

Matt Campbell and Mathieu Jaminet continued to demonstrate, if they needed it, that they feel good in IMSA and on the American circuits. The two future pilots of the Porsche 963 made the Pfaff Motorsports 911 GT3R triumph at Bowmanville in GTD Pro. They beat Antonio Garcia and Jordan Taylor in the No. 8 Chevrolet Corvette C3.R and theAston Martin Vantage GT3 n°23 from the Heart of Racing Team of Ross Gunn and Alex Riberas.

Victorious after a downgrade a week earlier, the No. 3 Aston Martin Vantage GT27 of the Heart of Racing Team driven by Roman De Angelis and Maxime Martin did not need a penalty this time to win. They beat the track Mercedes-AMG GT3 No. 57 from Winward Racing (Russell Ward, Philip Ellis) and the Acura NSX GT3 No. 51 from Rick Ware Racing (Ryan Eversley, Aidan Read).
