Korea on the Asian Le Mans Series program

The Automobile Club de l'Ouest today announced the name of the sixth and final destination on the calendar for the 2013 Asian Le Mans Series season. In addition to China, Japan and Indonesia, the championship will travel to South Korea to the Autopia circuit.

Korea on the Asian Le Mans Series program

The Korean event of the calendar will take place on August 4, 2013 on a brand new track which is currently under construction. The circuit will be located in the Inje region on the site called Autopia, 130 kilometers from Seoul. It will be 4,207 kilometers long and will be able to accommodate 16 people in its stands.

On the Asian continent, Korean vitality is an important guarantee for the development of our competitions Le Mans. We had to be present in a particularly dynamic country of 50 million inhabitants. »

This endurance race represents a boon for the region, as confirmed by Soon-Sun Lee, the Governor of Inje Province. “ Every year, millions of people travel to Inje Province to enjoy the splendor of its nature and practice outdoor sports. With the organization of a Le Mans-type race, our region will become even more attractive to tourists. The Le Mans brand is very well known in Korea and I am convinced that many car enthusiasts in general and motor sports in particular will come to watch this race, which can only be beneficial to the local economy. »

The Asian Le Mans Series calendar will consist of 6 rounds, including three in China (Zhuhai, Shanghai and Ordos), one in Japan (Fuji Speedway on September 21), one in Indonesia (Sentul on December 8) and one in South Korea.
