Lakeville – Qualifying: Matt Campbell on pole position for Pfaff Motorsports

The ninth round of the seasonIMSA takes place this weekend in Lakeville, at the Lime Rock Park circuit, with only 15 cars competing. Only the GTs are competing in this Northeast GP on the Connecticut track. 

After having already dominated Free Practice 2, Matt Campbell was once again the fastest in qualifying for the team Pfaff Motorsports. The future pilot of the Porsche 963 signed the best lap of this session in 51.079. The Australian was just 0.018 seconds ahead of American Jack Hawksworth, returning to competition in the No. 3 Lexus RC F GT14 of VasserSullivan. Connor de Philippi completed the podium 0.148 seconds behind in the No. 4 Team RLL BMW M3 GT25.

In the only other category entered at Lakeville, that of the GTD, it was Frankie Montecalvo who showed himself the fastest with the other Lexus of VasserSullivan, flocked with the number 12. The American set a time of 51.459, to beat his compatriot Robert Megennis, in the No. 3 CarBahn with Peregrine Racing Lamborghini Huracán GT39 by 0.006 seconds. Canadian Roman de Angelis took third place at 0.018 on theAston Martin Vantage GT3 n°27 from Heart of Racing Team.

Minimal gaps between each competitor which promise a fierce fight for victory this Saturday, from 21:10 p.m. French time.
