The ALMS and Grand-Am prepare for 2014 with the ACO

During a conference organized in Daytona on September 5, the ALMS and the Grand-Am announced the merger between the two categories planned for 2014. The organizer of the ALMS, Don Panoz, and that of the Grand-Am , Jim France, met at Le Mans to meet Pierre Filon, the President of the ACO.

The Automobile Club de l'Ouest, the American Le Mans Series and the Grand-Am were able to discuss the new championship which will be created for 2014, but also the World Championship ofEndurance and 24 Hours of Le Mans. Many technical aspects were reviewed during this first meeting between the three men.

New meetings of this type should take place in the coming months in order to define the broad outlines of the future championship which will arise from the merger between the ALMS and Grand-Am. The next time, the ACO returned to the United States to continue the development of its partnership with its American counterpart.
