Laura Wontrop Klauser new director of Corvette Racing

Some noises announced the arrival of Ron Fellows in place of Doug Fehan at the head of Corvette Racing, but it was ultimately Laura Wontrop Klauser who got the job. After 12 years at General Motors (GM), the American will take care of the C8.R program in IMSA and if the context of Covid-19 allows it, from his first excursion to 24 Hours of Le Mans in June 2021.

“Corvette’s rich history of success in IMSA is something everyone at Chevrolet can be proud of. At the same time, this restructuring of motorsport management is a great opportunity to rethink how Chevrolet operates IMSA weekends, explains the one who has been in charge of the Cadillac DPi program since 2017.

My goal is to promote greater synergy between our racing programs and pass on our technical knowledge to GM so that we continue to build and sell better cars to our fans and customers around the world. »

In 2021, two Corvette C8.Rs will complete the IMSA season in GTLM, with the Garcia-Taylor-Catsburg and Tandy-Milner-Sims crews.
