Team Penske is currently in good shape in IMSA. After the victory of the Acura of Dane Cameron and Juan Pablo Montoya at Mid-Ohio last month, the Colombian took pole on the streets of Detroit (Michigan) by beating the sister car ofHelio Castroneves of 2 tenths.
Jonathan Bomarito was the closest in his Team Joest Mazda, ahead of the Action Express Racing Cadillacs led by Luis Felipe Derani and Filipe Albuquerque. The #10 Wayne Taylor Racing car driven by Renger van der Zande followed in 6th place. The JDC-Miller Motorsports model on which Tristan Vautier is entered will start from 10th position.
After post-qualifying technical inspection, the No. 96 was moved to the rear of the GTD field due to a camber infraction. @ZRobichon now will start Saturday's race from the GTD pole position. #IMSA / #DetroitGP
