The 61st edition of the 24 Hours of Daytona will take place from January 26 to 29 and will, as usual, open the season.Endurance. 2023 will be a landmark year for motorsport and particularly for the discipline with the convergence between the ACO and IMSA and the arrival of LMDh. Four manufacturers have already confirmed the presence of their new prototypes from the double turn of the clock in Florida with Acura, BMW, Cadillac and Porsche. They will all appear in the new category of theIMSA, the GTP (Grand Touring Prototype), replacement for the DPi category.

“Daytona 2023 will begin a new era with new state-of-the-art prototypes, but will also pay homage to an ancient golden age with the return of the GTP category, said Daytona International Speedway President Frank Kelleher. This will be a continuation of the rich heritage here at the World Center of Racing. We're also excited to offer up-close garage access, which fans around the world will appreciate. »

Access to the garages will in fact be included for all customers, which will enhance the guest experience by allowing them up-close access to the cars and teams preparing for the most prestigious long-distance race in North America .

The practice sessions will kick off the competition on Thursday January 26. On Friday January 27, the BMW M Endurance Challenge will open the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season. The start of the 24 Hours of Daytona will be on Saturday January 28. In 2022, it's the No. 60 Acura from Meyer Shank Racing driven by Helio Castroneves, Tom Blomqvist, Oliver Jarvis and simon pagenaud which has established itself in Florida.
