Yes, the SC63 will be competing next year. In a statement released on Christmas Eve, Lamborghini reaffirmed its presence in IMSA in 2025. The Sant'Agata Bolognese firm has confirmed its commitment to the American championship in the GTP category. As in 2024, the Italian manufacturer will only line up one LMDh, and only on the Michelin rounds Endurance Cup
If Lamborghini's presence was not really called into question in IMSA, the Italian firm wanted to reassure about its commitment to the highest level of Endurance following the suspension of its program in WECThe main reason for this withdrawal is the change in the WEC sporting regulations, with the obligation for each manufacturer in the Hypercar category to enter two prototypes next season, which Lamborghini could not assume financially and sportingly speaking.
Lamborghini also took advantage of this press release to confirm its first four drivers and, unsurprisingly, we find elements already present with the Italian manufacturer last year. Mirko Bortolotti, Romain Grosjean, Daniil Kvyat and Edoardo Mortara will be the four men who will represent the Bull in IMSA next season. For the last two, it will be the first time they will compete in the American championship in their Endurance career. Lamborghini indicates that "The exact combinations [of crews] will be decided as the races progress."
In the GTD classes, Lamborghini will field a trio of Huracán GT3 EVO2s. Factory drivers Andrea Caldarelli, Jordan Pepper and Marco Mapelli will be entered in GTD Pro with Pfaff Motorsports, and the trio will be joined by former driver IndyCar James Hinchcliffe for the 24 Hours of Daytona. In GTD, the Wayne Taylor Racing and Forte Racing teams will each line up a Huracán GT3 EVO2.
