Mathieu Jaminet withdraws from Daytona

Frenchman Mathieu Jaminet will not be able to make his prototype debut at the 24 Hours of Daytona. The Porsche driver tested positive for Covid-19.

Mathieu Jaminet withdraws from Daytona

The 24 Hours of Dubai left their mark on the competitors. Several of them contracted the coronavirus during the race weekend, including Mathieu Jaminet, who tested positive when coming to Daytona.

The official driver Porsche has no symptoms, but must forfeit. He was due to make his prototype debut at the 24 Hours of Daytona next weekend, in a Ligier JSP217 with RWR Eurasia.

The objective was to gain experience in the discipline and show that it was capable of being as efficient in a prototype as a GT, with a view to the arrival of Porsche in the LMDh category, by 2023 .

Jaminet will be replaced by his friend Sven Müller, former official driver of the brand, alongside Austin Dillon, Cody Ware and Salih Yoluc.
