Mathieu Jaminet: “We want the record of victories”

Mathieu Jaminet, last meeting of the season with Petit Le Mans. How do you approach it?

For the title, it looks good. We just need to start to be crowned. So we have little pressure, even for Felipe (Nasr. Editor's note), our third driver. He is relieved, because he hasn't driven much in GT this year, it's not his specialty. Especially since the 911 is not the easiest car and what's more, it's the last race of the season. It's cool to just have to show up on the starting grid. We would love to win the race despite everything! It's one of the big races of the season, it's the last with the team and the last in GT.

You still have goals to achieve, right?

It would be nice to end on a good note. The winning record in IMSA is five races, so we can go get it. We can therefore become the first team in the history of the championship to win six races in the same year. It is close to the heart of the whole team to obtain this record. We can also potentially be champions in Endurance Cup, currently we are third behind the Corvette and the Ferrari of Risi Competizione. We stand at three points, it's extremely tight. With the points being distributed in the fourth hour, the eighth and at the end, the team has already planned strategies to win it all.

This would reward a full season from Pfaff Motorsports…

I told them I was ready to start, park the car at noon, prepare the barbecue and go have some beers, but they are not too keen! (Laughs) They are competitors, they leave nothing to chance. We won a few races thanks to the team and the strategy in the pits. It was clearly the benchmark this year. We are the team with the fewest missteps, the fewest mistakes. It's a nice surprise.
