Maxime Martin will compete in the ALMS with BMW

Maxime Martin had been closely observed for several seasons and the 26-year-old Belgian stood out again last year by defending the interests of BMW. Under the banner of Marc VDS Racing, he managed to finish runner-up to Blancpain Endurance Series and took a good fourth place at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring. The French-speaker also celebrated three victories with the Alpina B6 GT3 in ADAC GT Masters, ending his season with fourth place in the German Championship. As a reward for his performances, the Munich manufacturer offered him a position as an official driver by registering him in ALMS within BMW Team RLL. Maxime Martin will also replace Marco Wittmann as test pilot and reserve pilot for the Hélice brand in DTM.

“I'm really happy and I think it's a good way to start my career as an official BMW driver”, comments the lucky winner who also enjoyed success last year in WEC with Oak Racing in the LMP2 category. “I have the opportunity to work with a DTM team and gain significant experience. Driving for BMW Team RLL in ALMS is a big challenge for me because I have never driven in North America before and I am very excited to go there. The trajectory of my career shows how beneficial it is to be closely followed by BMW. » The Belgian has indeed managed to convince the managers of the German brand to retain him for this season. “He won this promotion thanks to his fantastic performances in his last season,” adds sports director Jens Marquardt.

Maxime Martin will quickly be called upon since he will be entered in the 24 Hours of Daytona contested at the end of the month at the wheel of a Turner Motorsport M3.
