As for the starters for the coming season, Jonathan Bomarito and Harry Tincknell will once again be reunited in the No. 55 and will be supported, as we told you last DecemberBy Frenchman Olivier Pla on the tests Endurance (Daytona, Sebring, Watkins Glen, Petit Le Mans).

The resident of Ford Chip Ganassi Racing in WEC will thus return to the DPi category, after having evolved in 2018 within the ESM structure at Daytona, Sebring and Watkins Glen. “The level of competition is extremely high, but based on how Mazda's season ended in 2018, I'm looking forward to racing and fighting at the front in 2019.” indicates the Toulouse resident.

The second RT24-P, flanked by n°77, will be entrusted to the duo Tristan Nunez – Oliver Jarvis, Timo Bernhard venant épauler le tandem dès Daytona pour les courses longues du championnat nord-américain. L’ancien pilote officiel Porsche en WEC retrouvera avec le Team Joest, une écurie avec laquelle il avait remporté les 24 Heures du Mans en 2010, avec Audi Sport North America.

René Rast, champion DTM 2017, will also join the No. 77 for Daytona and Sebring. Note that behind the scenes, the long-time engineer of the German structure Jan Lange is promoted to the position of general manager of Mazda Team Joest.
