Mazda Team Joest in the lead after the second day of the Roar

Harry Tincknell set the tone in the Mazda Team Joest clan with the RT24-P n°55 during the third running session of the Roar Before the Rolex 24 yesterday at the end of the day, before Jonathan Bomarito increased the pace during the disputed night session on the Daytona track.

Renger van der Zande (Cadillac DPi-VR n°10 – Wayne Taylor Racing) set the best absolute time achieved since the start of these pre-season tests during the fourth session, completing a lap in 1'34″534 , but Bomarito found the small thousandth (1'34″533), sufficient to secure the reference time before the last clashes on the track this Sunday.

The second Mazda RT24-P n°77 of Bernhard – Jarvis – Nunez – Rast finished the night session in second position at 444 thousandths, leaving the second best absolute time to the Cadillac of Wayne Taylor Racing, only sixth in the Florida night with van der Zande – Alonso - Kobayashi –Jordan Taylor.

In LM P2, Gabriel Aubry set the benchmark time in 1'36"990 in the No. 07 Oreca 52 – PR1 Mathiasen.

It was in this same session that the No. 3 Acura NSX GT86 – Meyer Shank Racing with Curb Agajanian of Hindman – Farnbacher – Marks – Allmendinger posted the best performance in GTD in 1'45″533.

The Roar Before the Rolex 24 continues this Sunday, including the first qualifying sessions in GTLM and DPi / LM P2.
