Nasr and Calado put Action Express and Risi on pole at Petit Le Mans

Felipe Nasr gives Action Express Racing pole position at Petit Le Mans. James Calado, for his part, takes the Ferrari 488 - Risi Competizione to the top of the GTLM hierarchy.

Nasr and Calado put Action Express and Risi on pole at Petit Le Mans

Ahead of the general classification before the final of theIMSA 2010 by Petit Le Mans by Dane Cameron and Juan Pablo Montoya (Acura ARX-05 n°6 – Acura Team Penske), Felipe Nasr and Pipo Derani (Cadillac DPi-VR n°31 – Action Express Racing) will start from pole tomorrow in Georgia.

Felipe Nasr was the fastest in the qualifying session by completing his best lap in 1'08"457, allowing the trio formed with Derani and Eric Curran, third driver in this last round of the championship, to start at the top from the starting grid.

The trio is ahead of Ricky Taylor – Helio Castroneves – Graham Rahal (Acura ARX-05 n°7 – Acura Team Penske) by 0″141 and the second Cadillac DPi-VR n°5 – Action Express Racing of Joao Barbosa – Mike conway –Filipe Albuquerque.

Cameron and Montoya, supported at Petit Le Mans by simon pagenaud, will start in fourth position after failing by more than three tenths. The top 5 is completed by the first Mazda RT24-P n°77 – Mazda Team Joest of Oliver Jarvis – Tristan Nunez – Timo Bernhard in front of the sister car n°55 of Olivier Pla – Jonathan Bomarito – Harry Tincknell.

Matthieu Vaxivière, who supports Renger van der Zande and Jordan Taylor in the No. 10 Cadillac DPi-VR – WTR, will start in 9th position, two places ahead of Tristan Vautier, teammate of Misha Goikhberg and Juan Piedrahita (No. 85 Cadillac DPi-VR – JDC-Miller).

In LM P2, Cassels – Masson – Evans (No. 07 Oreca 38 – Performance Tech Motorsports) took pole and finished 11th in the session, two places ahead of the No. 54 Nissan DPi – CORE Autosport of Romain Dumas – John Bennett – Colin Braun.

James Calado in one breath

Returning to the GTLM peloton for this last round of 2019, the Ferrari 488 n°62 – Risi Competizione hit hard in qualifying, with pole position taken in 1'15″639 by James Calado.

The Briton, who is competing this weekend with Alessandro Pier Guidi and Daniel Serra (the winning trio at Le Mans in GTE Pro), is 63 thousandths ahead of Jan's No. 7 Corvette C3.R Magnussen – Antonio Garcia – Mike Rockenfeller.

Jesse Krohn – John Edwards – Philipp Eng place the first BMW M8 n°24 – Team RLL in third position in the category at 0″145. The first follows Porsche 911 RSR n°912 championship leader of Earl Bamber – Laurens Vanthoor – Mathieu Jaminet and the first Ford GT n°66 – Chip Ganassi Racing of Sébastien Bourdais – Joey Hand – Dirk Müller.

Frédéric Makowiecki – Patrick Pilet – Nick Tandy (Porsche 911 RSR n°911) took 7th place in the category.

The trio Sellers – Lewis – Seefried took pole in GTD with the No. 3 – Paul Miller Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT48 Evo.
