Oliver Pla was the fastest after the first two practice sessions for the Roar before the 24 at Daytona where the Mazdas finished in the lead.

Olivier Pla and Mazda lead the Roar before the 24 at Daytona

The Mazda RT24-Ps were the fastest after the first two practice sessions at the Roar before the 24 in Daytona (Florida). It was Olivier Pla who was the best performer, completing a lap in 1'35''794 in the second session ahead of the sister car entrusted to Jonathan Bomarito.

Filipe Albuquerque was the closest at the wheel of the No. 31 Cadillac, 4 tenths behind, ahead of the two Team Penske Acuras driven by Juan Pablo Montoya and Helio Castroneves. Ryan Briscoe's Wayne Taylor Racing No. 10 followed in 6th place.

 

 

PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports placed the first Oreca 07 LMP2 in 7th overall with Simon Trummer.

 

 

Colton Herta was the best in the GTLM category by setting a time of 1'44''239 in the BMW M8, a few hundredths ahead of the Porsche 911 RSR by Nicky Tandy and Laurens Vanthoor. Daniel Serra followed in 4th place on the Ferrari 488 of the Risi Ciompetizione in front of the second BMW where Augusto Farfus was the most competitive.

 

 

Jack Hawksworth was fastest in GTD in AIM Vasser Sullivan's Lexus RC F GT3.

 

 

The Roar before the 24 tests will resume this Saturday with 3 test sessions.
