Olivier Pla and Ryan Hunter-Reay will lend a hand to the Mazda crews in IMSA this season.

Pla and Hunter-Reay return to Mazda

Mazda has confirmed its crews for the next season of theIMSA which begins this week with the Roar before the 24, the official tests for the 24 Hours of Daytona, held from January 3 to 5.

Jonathan Bomarito and Harry Tincknell will team up for the third consecutive year at the wheel of the No. 3 Mazda RT24-P, while Tristan Nunez will join Oliver Jarvis in the No. 55.

Both crews will be supported during the races Endurance by Olivier Pla and Ryan Hunter-Reay, the Frenchman racing in the No. 55 while the American will return to the wheel of the No. 77 after competing in a race at Mid-Ohio last year which ended with a podium.

“I am delighted to return with Mazda for the Michelin Endurance Cup, comments the man who won the 6h of Watkins Glen last year. After a very good 2019 season where the Mazda RT24-P achieved 3 magnificent victories, we will approach this season with even higher expectations and a team working hard during the winter break to ensure that we are ready. The level has continued to rise in Daytona Prototype, but I am sure that we will have a powerful package to fight from the first race at Daytona. »

Mazda finished in 3rd place in the DPi Manufacturers' Championship and Michelin Endurance Cup last year behind Acura and Cadillac. Tristan Nunez and Oliver Jarvis finished in 5th place just ahead of Jonathan Bomarito.
