THEIMSA stops in Long Beach this weekend for the third round of the season, contested alongside the event of theIndyCar. A double winner of the event in 2018 and 2019 alongside compatriot João Barbosa in the Mustang Sampling Racing Cadillac DPi, Filipe Alburquerque looks to complete a career hat-trick this weekend by winning in the no. 10 from Wayne Taylor Racing. This would be the first victory of the season for the runner-up team, but also the first for the North American branch of Honda on the circuit located in Southern California. Even though she is not part of theEndurance Cup, this race remains an unmissable event on the calendar for the Lusitanian driver.

“It will be a difficult race”

“The Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach must be one of the highlights of the season, along with Daytona, Sebring and Petit Le Mans, believes Filipe Albuquerque. Personally, I love city tours. I like to call Long Beach the Monaco of the United States because it is such a fun event. It's great to go there. It's Acura's home race and there's a lot of attention on us. It will be a difficult race for us, however, as this circuit, with its bumps and slow corners, tends to favor our competitors. However, the beauty of this championship is the variety of tracks and layouts and the future looks promising with the arrival of new manufacturers. »

Long Beach is the first sprint race of the season with 1h40 of racing. Acura and Cadillac have shared the first two wins so far.
