Rebellion concludes the ALMS story at Petit Le Mans

Rebellion Racing won the ALMS final round at Petit Le Mans before the unification of the discipline with Grand-Am next year to form the United SportsCar Championship. This is the second consecutive success for the Swiss team which easily won victory despite a complicated start to the race following Neel Jani's collision with the FLM09 of PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports which was leaving the pits. The Lola B12/60 n°12 by Jani-Cheers-Heidfeld found herself one lap behind Dumas-Klaus-Graf's Muscle Milk Pickett Racing HPD. But the reigning champion team let go of the controls halfway through the race following an overheating problem encountered on the No. 6.

The podium is completed by the HPD ARX-03b n°551 of Level 5 Motorsports of Tucker-Briscoe-Franchitti which managed to get rid of the LMP2 n°01 of Extreme Speed Motorsports of Sharp-Lazzaro-Brabham which did not fail. only one second behind the category winners. Scott Tucker wins the LMP2 title ahead of Scott Sharp. The No. 09 BAR8 Motorsports FLM1 of Marcelli-Cumming-Johansson won the LMPC with an 11-second lead over the No. 25 8Star Motorsports of Rayhall-Negri, but it was Mike Guasch (and not Chris Cumming like the officials announced) who won the title, while Core Autosport took the Teams title.

Le Team Falken remporte la victoire en GT avec la Porsche 911 GT3 RSR de Henzler-Sellers-Tandy qui a pris la tête de la course en fin d’épreuve suite à une erreur d’Olivier Beretta. Le pilote du Risi Competizione a envoyé la Ferrari 458 Italia n°62 into the wall while trying to overtake a GTC. Beretta-Malucelli-Liddell finally completed the podium behind the BMW Z4 GTE of Muller-Edwards-Auberlen. Jan Magnussen and Antonio Garcia secure the title with sixth place in the No. 3 Corvette. In GTC, success went to the #45 Flying Lizard Motorsports driven by Canache Jr-Pumpelly-Snow. However, the title goes to Jeroen Bleekemolen and Cooper MacNeil, the drivers of Alex Job Racing.
