The fifth round of the seasonIMSA in Mid-Ohio was lively. Starting from pole position, Sébastien Bourdais was surprised at the start by Filipe Albuquerque. “It was a more eventful race than we wanted, declared the Frenchman after the race. We didn't get the start we wanted while being in engine mapping for the safety car. At that point we lost our minds and things weren't looking good. »

“The Full Course Yellow came at the wrong time”

Le Manceau managed to regain the lead a few minutes later to complete his participation. A Full Course Yellow would nevertheless compromise Cadillac's strategy. Once again this season, the No. 01 saw a victory slip away while it was at the head of the race while Renger van der Zande took over at the wheel. “ Fortunately, we had some lucky breaks and we put a lot of pressure on car 10 to regain the lead, continues the Habs. We seemed to be in control with the speed of the car. Full Course Yellow came at a bad time for us. Renger did everything he could to keep them behind (Wayne Taylor Racing. Editor’s note). Unfortunately, it didn't work for us. It was a good weekend for us, so obviously we're disappointed not to have more points. We will continue to work and hope for better days. »

“I think Seb did a fantastic job, says his Dutch teammate. When I got into the car, I struggled with the tires at the restart. I tried to maintain the lead position but lost control of the car on a small touch. It's difficult to keep a fast car behind when you have low grip. It's a shame. I think we had a good chance to win with a good car and a good strategy. Next stop is Detroit, an important stop for Cadillac. » The hopes of victory for the #01 CGR were dashed in a collision with the #10 Wayne Taylor Racing.
