Finally smiles at Cadillac. Since its podium at the 24 Hours of Daytona, the V-Series.R n°01 had only experienced problems, between an engine that went up in smoke at the 12 Hours of Sebring while the American prototype was leading the event, a accident at the very start of the race at Long Beach and the spectacular track exit at the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps for his first appearance in the World ChampionshipEndurance of the FIA. Back in IMSA on the Laguna Seca route this Sunday, Sébastien Bourdais and Renger van der Zande finally took the checkered flag victoriously.

« With the two months we've had lately, it feels really good, said Sébastien Bourdais, who took his 11th IMSA victory. I'm really, really happy for the boys, as you can see. Emotions are running high, and it's not because of a race victory. We had to get out of trouble. It's really good for the whole group and for Cadillac. Renger was great as always. I couldn't be happier for everyone involved here. »

The Habs' praise for his Dutch teammate did not stop there. “ Renger responded again, enthused Sébastien Bourdais after the race. I couldn't ask for a better teammate. When he's in that position, there's no one better than him. He made some decisive moves to allow us to take the lead and manage the situation from there. I'm very happy for Cadillac. We can see the emotions that go through everyone and this allows us to best prepare ourselves for Le Mans. We will try to continue this momentum. »

« Chip Ganassi Racing and Cadillac, with all the effort they put in, are working day and night. It's incredible to reward them with such a victory, added his teammate Renger van der Zande. This is our car for Le Mans. She's going to Le Mans and she's a winner. This is a winning car that will be flown in and fight for the race. »

Sur la ligne d’arrivée, les deux compères ont devancé la Porsche 963 n°6 de Nick Tandy et Mathieu Jaminet et une autre Cadillac, la n°31 d’Alexander Sims et Pipo Derani.
