Sébastien Bourdais replaces Joey Hand again at Mid-Ohio

For the second time in two meetings in IMSA, Sébastien Bourdais will replace Joey Hand in the No. 66 Ford GT, lined up in the GTLM category, this weekend at Mid-Ohio.

Already part of Long Beach (California), in addition to his commitment in IndyCar, the Frenchman will take over from the American, still convalescing following a virus, and will support Dirk Müller.

Joey Hand confirmed his absence via a tweet posted late Wednesday evening. " I am much better, comments the latter. But it's been a pretty difficult month with this resistant virus. I will miss the Mid-Ohio race this weekend.

I want to make sure I come back as strong as ever and ready for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. I don't want to ruin Dirk's championship chances. The team has a great replacement in Sébastien Bourdais who will replace me perfectly. »

Dirk Müller, holder for the year, and Sébastien Bourdais, who had already supported the Müller – Hand duo at Daytona and Sebring, are in fourth place in the Drivers' championship, after taking 4th place at Long Beach.
