Sebring – Nicolas Prost: “The Podium and maybe more”

The year 2013 for Rebellion Racing promises to be one of the busiest, with a year-round commitment in ALMS and another in WEC. And again, at the 12 Hours of Sebring, the 6 Hours of Silverstone and Spa as well as the 24 Hours of Le Mans, ce seront bien deux Lola B12/60-Toyota qui seront alignées pour les trios Nicolas Cheers-Neel Jani-Nick Heidfeld and Mathias Beche-Confgu Cheng-Andrea Belicchi.

But the World ChampionshipEndurance, it's almost a month away. This weekend, the Swiss team will focus on the 12 Hours of Sebring, the opening round of the ALMS. “We are happy to participate in the Amercian Le Mans Series championship this year, underlines team manager Bart Hayden. At Petit Le Mans last year we tasted the flavors of victory and we want to relive that this year. We come here to compete against the best American motorsport teams like Dyson and Muscle Milk. Sebring is a long race. We are all focused on delivering our best performances here, staying in the race for the 12 hours and finishing in a good position. »

In a good position, that means a place on the podium. Because on a regular basis, it will be difficult to tease the two Audi R18 e-tron quattros. But Nicolas Prost is ready to seize the slightest opportunity that presents itself to him. And all the more so since at Sebring, racing events are not rare. “Our objective remains the same as last year: to be the best private team in both championships, admits the Frenchman. HPDs are fast and will be strong competitors. Last year at Sebring, we fell short of the podium and won Petit Le Mans. This year we are aiming for the podium at Sebring and maybe more.” “I always like to come and run in the United States, continues Neel Jani. Sebring is one of those ?classics? which we like to take part in. With a little success, we can finish on the podium. The race will be long, hard, and will undoubtedly be run in very hot weather. Perfect conditions to test our preparation.”

The start of the Florida clock tour will be given tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. local time (15:30 p.m. French time).
