Avec six voitures engagées aux 12 heures de Sebring, Porsche espère bien défendre son titre ALMS, remporté l?an dernier par l’Allemand Jörg Bergmeister et l’Américain Patrick Long.
The outgoing ALMS champions will team up with Marc Lieb at the wheel of the No. 45 Flying Lizard Motorsports Porsche. The team, spearhead of the Porsche armada, will have to deal with muscular opposition. BMW, Corvette, Ferrari, Ford Doran, Jaguar and even Lamborghini intend to make the talk.
“It’s the most difficult race of the season” concedes Jörg Bergmeister. “At Sebring, extra points are awarded. For this reason, achieving a good result is especially important. A retirement here constitutes a real handicap in the race for the title. We have done quite a few tests and we are well prepared. The improvements made to the car are very promising. But we will see in qualifying if everything goes well. »
A few days before departure, Patrick Long is also confident. “This is my third season with Flying Lizard Motorsports, so we know how to do the best job together,” explains the American. “This is particularly advantageous during pit stops, which can play a decisive role throughout the race. »
