Tandy confirmed at Corvette, Sims freelance

In accordance with what we revealed a few weeks ago (see Ah n°2287), Nick Tandy – not reappointed by Porsche – will defend the colors of Corvette Racing next year in IMSA. The 36-year-old Briton will take the place left vacant in No. 4 by his friend and compatriot Oliver Gavin, who has retired.

« Since I raced in IMSA and at Le Mans, Corvette Racing is the team that everyone admires, underlines the winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2015. All structures aspire to reach the level at which Corvette Racing operates. That always impressed me. Joining the team and continuing to race in IMSA is a dream opportunity. »

Nick Tandy will support Tommy Milner, who has defended the interests of the team since 2011, the two men being joined in the long races by the Briton Alexander Sims, who competes at the same time in Formula E with Mahindra. The recruitment of the latter means that Marcel Fässler, who until then played this role on the No. 4, is also not continuing the adventure within Dough Fehan's team.

Unsurprisingly, 2020 GTLM champions in IMSA, Jordan Taylor and Antonio García are confirmed on the No. 8 C3.R, as is Nick Catsburg, who will continue to lend them strong support in the races.Endurance.
