United SportsCar Racing, which will bring together the ALMS and Grand-Am from next year, saw part of its regulations revealed by officials of theIMSA. All drivers entered in this new Championship will be classified as Platinum, Gold, Silver or Bronze (according to the FIA scale). The teams registered in Prototype and GT Le Mans will not be restricted in their crew choices. On the other hand, for the Prototype Challenge and the GT Daytona, at least one Platinum or Gold driver must be entered in each event. However, two top-ranked drivers may be entered in the same car for the 24-hour races.

Each car must be driven by two or three drivers for classic races. Four drivers will be able to take turns for the 12-hour events. 24-hour races will allow up to five drivers per car. Officials would like to point out that certain drivers aged under 18 will be able to participate in the Championship if they have solid experience.

Concerning pit stop procedures, teams will be able to take care of tire changes and refueling at the same time. Six mechanics will be allowed to work on the car.
